Sony str dh790 best settings
I have an STR DH590 and leave mine on Direct all the time. Surround movies or shows play in 5.1 and music plays in stereo(also utilizing the subwoofer). If you're playing TV shows which are in stereo and you want to still use the rest of your speakers, my go to is Pro Logic Movie.The dynamic volume and dynamic EQ sucks. The Sony was so much easier to make sound more pleasing immediately. The Denon room correction was very slow to respond to commands when setting up and then the end result sounded worse than the Sony set up manually. 4K@60Hz is enough for me. I don't plan on using neither 8K, nor 120Hz anytime soon.Honestly, I want one setting that'll play what it should. ie if I'm listening to music I expect it to be stereo, if I have a movie on that's surround sound- I want it surround sound. As far as I can tell with "Sound Field" it seems to stretch stereo sounds to all speakers.
